ICW
Designed for spring-isolated ceilings in wood-framed construction, this side-mounted 1″ deflection spring hanger includes thoughtful details, such as a pre-compression bracket above the spring to prevent uplift/displacement during the gypsum board installation process. A single UL assembly number allows for use of either wood joists, engineered wood beams, or open trusses. Installation of the ICW to the side of joists saves space while providing some of the best acoustical performance achievable in wood-framed buildings. ICW springs are sold with project-specific shop drawings that detail the spring layout, spring deflections, seismic restraint, and installation sequencing. Acousthetics offers an optional service to have the shop drawings fully engineered and signed/stamped by a state-licensed third-party structural engineer.
