Microperforated Wood Acoustical Ceiling at Winery Tasting Room

The Caymus-Suisun Winery Tasting Room opened in 2022 in Fairfield, CA by the Wagner family, 50 years after founding Caymus Vineyard. The 5,500-square-foot glass tasting room pavilion utilized Perfecto Microperforated acoustical wood planks by  RPG Acoustical Systems, which were finished in White Oak to seamlessly transition from the interior finish to the exterior cantilevered cladding.

Perfecto Micro utilizes thousands of 0.4mm diameter micro-perforations in the veneer finish that gives a solid wood appearance to the eye but allows sound to be absorbed, offering an NRC of 0.90. The use of a precision laser drill provides the most crisp and precise micro-perf on the market. The panels can be made with any commercially available veneer and finished to match millwork or paint colors.  Perfecto Micro can be specified with high recycled content, ULEF, Class A fire-rated and FSC certified MDF core.

Designed by Bohlin Cywinski Jackson, the tasting room is a low-slung glass pavilion that immerses visitors into the surrounding vineyards, providing sweeping views through floor-to-ceiling glass walls and sliding doors. An oversized skylight over the central space is detailed as a pyramidal opening in the ceiling plane, also clad in White Oak Perfecto Micro Planks.  The Caymus-Suisun Winery Tasting Room is open to the public but reservations are required, which can be made through their website.
