Fabric-wrapped acoustical panels are sound-absorbing panels designed to reduce echo and reverberation and improve room acoustics. They feature a rigid core wrapped in fabric, offering both functional noise reduction and aesthetic appeal.
These panels absorb sound waves that pass through the fabric and are absorbed by an absorptive core, reducing reverberation and echo. Their core, typically made of fiberglass, mineral wool, or PET, traps and dissipates sound energy, creating a quieter environment.
They enhance speech clarity, minimize noise distractions, and improve overall sound quality in spaces like offices, theaters, classrooms, and studios. With customizable designs, they also add a decorative touch.
Common in commercial and residential spaces, these panels are ideal for offices, conference rooms, restaurants, classrooms, recording studios, hotels, and home theaters—anywhere that needs noise control.
Yes! Panels are available in various sizes, shapes, colors, and fabrics to match your design preferences. When choosing fabric for your acoustical panels, consider factors such as the desired aesthetic, durability, and acoustic transparency. Opt for fabrics with open weaves or acoustically transparent properties to allow sound to pass through easily. Additionally, select fabrics that are easy to clean, flame-retardant, and suited to the specific environment where the panels will be installed.
They can be mounted on walls or ceilings using adhesive, impaling clips, Z-clips, or track systems. This flexibility makes it possible to retrofit panels onto walls without significant modifications to the existing structure.
Many high quality fabric-wrapped acoustical panels, such as Kinetics Hardside, are designed to be fire-resistant or meet fire safety standards. They are often manufactured with fire-rated core materials and fabric coverings that have been treated for flame resistance. However, it is important to verify the specific fire safety ratings and certifications provided by the manufacturer before selecting panels for your project.
With proper care, these panels can last for many years. Regular dusting or vacuuming maintains their appearance, while high-quality materials ensure long-term durability in various environments.
