Tuned Absorber/Diffuser (TAD) panels utilize a specially designed perforation pattern (5/8″ or 1/2″ diameter holes) to produce balanced low- and mid-frequency absorption in conjunction with increasing reflectivity and diffusion in higher frequencies. Low-frequency absorption performance can be improved by using thicker panels.
The standard TAD panel is constructed of a 1/8″ thick perforated facing over a fiberglass substrate that can be wrapped in a variety of acoustically transparent fabrics. Panels are mounted to walls or ceilings using impaling clips, Rotofast anchors, or Z-clips.
TAD RevealedĀ is the same TAD perforation pattern in a wood panel that may be finished in a variety of wood veneer species, laminates, or paints. Wood panels are typically mounted to furring channels with fiberglass absorptive backing.
