Waveform Spline is a 1D sound diffuser used as an overhead ceiling reflector to blend the direct and reflected sound from an auditorium stage, or along walls to provide scattered sound to the audience. A canopy ceiling design will increase intelligibility, enhance musical clarity, and improve intimacy. Typically, curved canopy arrays are used instead of flat to provide not only the needed early reflections, but also provide scattering of the reflected energy to more uniformly address a broader selection of the audience.
Waveform Spline can be constructed of wood or molded glass fiber reinforced gypsum (GFRG) plaster. Wall-mounted units typically mount using a wood cleat. Ceiling-hung units are typically independently suspended by cables or threaded rod and may be joined together at the edges to create larger-dimension reflectors.
Waveform Spline G3 is an evolution of the Spline design with three aperiodic curves made from molded glass fiber reinforced gypsum (GFRG) plaster.
